Hey Guys! A few weeks ago I was making dinner and was making homemade pesto! I posted the recipe on my story, but so many of you asked me to put it on the blog! Pesto is pretty much the easiest thing to make ever and it’s a staple in our fridge! I suggest using really fresh ingredients for a really fresh taste. Believe it or not it only takes a few ingredients, a food processor and 5 minutes to whip this up!
What You Need
- 3 cups fresh basil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional but suggested!)
- 1/4 cup pine nuts
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
What You Do
Add all ingredients besides olive oil to your food processor! Start to mix by pulsing and drizzle in olive oil slowly until the pesto is smooth and creamy!
How To Serve
There are so many ways I love eating pesto. In the morning with eggs and avocado is a great way to start your day! For a snack I would go with a plate of pesto, seed crackers, turkey and parmesan. For lunch or dinner I would serve it on the side of a roasted chicken and veggies!
